Job Summary
SLR Better Mining is hiring a full-time Associate Software Engineer. Reporting to the Technical Adviser, the role supports full-stack development, digital product maintenance, system integrations, user support, and data validation under senior technical guidance. Requires a relevant computer science degree or technical background, basic programming skills, and a commitment to technical growth.
Key Roles & Operational Responsibilities
1. Software Development & Product Maintenance
- Full-Stack Task Execution: Assist senior engineers in building, testing, and maintaining frontend interfaces and backend logic for SLR Better Mining digital tools.
- System Integration Support: Support the implementation and maintenance of API endpoints and third-party software integrations.
- Code Quality & Testing: Write clean, documented, and unit-tested code while participating in peer code reviews to adopt engineering best practices.
2. Data Cleaning & Technical User Support
- Data Validation & Hygiene: Perform data cleaning, transformation, and validation routines to maintain database integrity across supply chain tracking modules.
- Issue Resolution & Support: Assist with level-1/2 technical user support, bug investigation, and troubleshooting user-reported issues.
3. Professional Growth & Team Collaboration
- Skill Acquisition: Focus on continuous learning, taking on increasingly complex tasks with growing independence.
- Cross-Functional Synergy: Collaborate closely with internal operations leads, field teams, and broader SLR digital teams to align technical tasks with user needs.
Foundational Capabilities & Prerequisites
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical background.
- Technical Fundamentals: Basic proficiency in modern web development frameworks (frontend and backend), RESTful APIs, and database structures.
- Version Control: Familiarity with Git workflows and collaborative software repositories (e.g., GitHub, GitLab).
- Data Management: Foundational skills in handling, cleaning, and validating structured datasets (e.g., SQL, Python, Excel, or ETL tools).
- Core Mindset: Strong analytical aptitude, attention to detail, clear communication, and a proactive attitude toward learning and receiving technical feedback.
