Job Summary
The Tony Blair Institute for Global Change is hiring an entry-level Analyst in Kigali, Rwanda. Embedded within Government of Rwanda advisory projects, the Analyst delivers quantitative/qualitative research, drafts executive briefing materials, manages project trackers, and coordinates stakeholder engagements. Candidates require a relevant degree and 0–2 years of experience.
Key Roles & Operational Responsibilities
1. Research, Analysis & Data Support
- Quantitative & Qualitative Research: Conduct desk research, literature reviews, and policy analyses to inform strategic government deliverables and decision-making.
- Data Management: Collect, clean, and organize dataset metrics from government and international sources; execute basic analytical techniques including trend analysis, benchmarking, and cross-country comparisons.
- Tracking Tools & Quality Control: Develop simple analytical tools, trackers, and models to monitor project KPIs; perform quality assurance checks on all data outputs.
2. Executive Material Development & Communication
- Briefing & Strategy Documents: Draft concise briefing notes, concept notes, strategy decks, and workshop materials for senior leadership within the Government of Rwanda and TBI.
- Synthesis: Synthesize complex policy, economic, and operational data into clear, structured, and actionable briefing documents.
3. Coordination & Delivery Support
- Workstream Coordination: Manage project schedules, track action items/deadlines, and flag operational risks or bottlenecks to Senior Advisors and Managers.
- Stakeholder Logistics: Organize multi-stakeholder workshops, government meetings, and team engagements, handling logistics and follow-up notes.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain constructive, professional working relationships with government counterparts and local partners.
Foundational Capabilities & Prerequisites
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: University degree in Economics, Business Administration, Public Policy, Law, Engineering, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships, research assistantships, or early-career roles in management consulting, government agencies, international development, or corporate strategy are welcomed).
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; basic exposure to quantitative and qualitative policy research.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to draft clear briefing documents and executive slides.
- Mindset & Working Style: High learning agility, comfort with ambiguity in fast-paced government settings, strong attention to detail, and a proactive delivery orientation.
