Job Summary
The Architect CAD & Construction Documentation Specialist produces architectural floor plans, elevation sets, and electromechanical schematics for remote contract projects. Requiring 3+ years of CAD experience, this role combines building design with GD&T callouts, multi-sheet electrical schematics, and PCB layout integration for complete construction packages.
Key Roles & Operational Responsibilities
1. Architectural CAD & Construction Documentation
- Floor Plans & Elevations: Draft detailed 2D/3D architectural floor plans, sections, and elevation sets tailored to project specifications.
- Documentation Packages: Assemble comprehensive multi-document construction packages aligned with project milestones and quality standards.
- GD&T Callouts: Apply accurate Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) annotations for specialized manufacturing and architectural components.
2. Electrical Schematics & PCB Layout Integration
- Multi-Sheet Schematics: Produce, annotate, and review multi-sheet electrical schematics following building and industrial electrical standards.
- PCB Layout Design: Design and review PCB layouts, incorporating Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and functional best practices into physical building environments.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate remotely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve technical queries and refine layout requirements.
Foundational Capabilities & Prerequisites
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills
- Professional Experience: Minimum 3+ years of recent experience in architectural CAD drafting, construction documentation, or electromechanical drafting.
- CAD & PCB Software Mastery: Proficiency in industry-standard 2D/3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, KiCAD, Eagle).
- Technical Annotation Competency: Proven ability to create, interpret, and review GD&T callouts and complex multi-sheet electrical schematics.
- Communication & Detail: Advanced written and spoken English skills with exceptional attention to detail for managing complex multi-document sets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience integrating embedded hardware or PCB layouts directly within building/architectural projects.
- Background in remote, cross-functional collaboration using digital project management and exchange platforms.
