Job Summary
A reputable hotel in Kigali is hiring a full-time HR Assistant. Responsible for supporting recruitment, onboarding, leave management, staff training coordination, labor law compliance, and payroll data preparation. Candidates require a relevant Bachelor's degree, 2+ years of HR experience (hospitality preferred), and fluency in Rwandan labor regulations.
Key Roles & Operational Responsibilities
1. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Support
- Recruitment Logistics: Assist in candidate sourcing, application screening, interview scheduling, and maintaining applicant tracking documentation.
- Onboarding & Orientation: Conduct new-hire orientations, prepare welcoming documentation, and integrate new staff members into property operations.
2. Personnel Administration & Payroll Support
- Records Management: Maintain complete, accurate, and confidential physical and digital employee personnel files.
- Leave & Attendance Tracking: Oversee employee attendance logs, process leave applications, and manage shift allowance/overtime data.
- Payroll Preparation: Provide verified, timely employee attendance and leave data to support payroll processing.
3. Employee Relations, Engagement & Training
- Staff Training: Coordinate internal training sessions, hospitality service workshops, and professional development programs.
- Employee Engagement: Support staff engagement initiatives, workplace wellness activities, and respond to daily staff inquiries.
- Policy Compliance: Ensure all HR activities align with internal company regulations, safety protocols, and Rwandan labor laws.
Foundational Capabilities & Prerequisites
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ hands-on HR experience, with preference given to candidates coming from the hospitality or hotel industry.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of Rwandan labor laws and contemporary HR best practices.
- Technical Proficiency: Competency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and HR management software/databases.
- Interpersonal & Ethical Skills: Strong communication skills, high organizational ability, and an uncompromised commitment to maintaining strict employee confidentiality.
