Job Summary
The Video Editor & Motion Graphics Animator designs, animates, edits, and delivers end-to-end long-form instructional videos for healthcare professionals. Core daily responsibilities include building character-driven classroom and clinic animations, structuring cinematic multi-angle frames, embedding digital knowledge testing overlays directly into video playbacks, maintaining a centralized library of reusable animation elements, and collaborating with medical subject matter experts to ensure complete technical accuracy.
Foundational Capabilities & Prerequisites
- Motion Graphics Footprint: Proven professional experience specializing heavily in motion graphics design and character animation, moving well beyond basic sequential video editing workflows.
- Portfolio Verification: A comprehensive, high-caliber creative portfolio demonstrating deep execution of advanced character animation, smooth keyframing, and longer-form educational or corporate content.
- Storyboarding & Editing Literacy: Demonstrated ability to interpret complex technical scripts, translate medical concepts into engaging visual stories, and construct long-form edits (15–60 minutes) that maintain learner engagement.
- Visual Harmonization: Deep artistic and system capability to establish, document, and preserve a simple, clean, and uniform animation aesthetic across a massive library of disparate training assets.
- Operational Habits: Uncompromising attention to structural detail, reliable asynchronous communication skills, high self-discipline, and the capacity to meet deadlines independently.
- Schedule Availability: Ability to commit to 40 hours per week, with working hours mapped flexibly within the 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM US Central Standard Time (CST) framework.
Preferred Experience & Instructional Multipliers
- Specialized Verticals: Prior professional experience authoring corporate compliance, institutional onboarding, or structured instructional training modules.
- Clinical Familiarity: Past experience handling medical, anatomical, or healthcare-related subject matter, enabling smooth interaction with clinical terminology.
- Interactive Assessment Integration: Proven experience designing interactive timeline elements, graphic user interface (GUI) overlays, or digital knowledge test check-points within video playbacks.
- Presentation Modeling: A track record of developing classroom, laboratory, or keynote presentation-style animated scenarios with one or two primary character rigs.
Technical Workflow Architecture
As a Healthcare Animator, your production sequence balances creative narrative design with asset optimization:
- Script Translation & Camera Layout: Analyzing clinical training scripts to build multi-angle scenes, shifting smoothly between close-ups, medium profiles, and long shots to ensure ongoing visual variety.
- Character Asset Optimization: Creating, rigging, and cataloging clean, reusable vector characters, instructor poses, and specific healthcare reaction frames to optimize rendering speeds across 50+ hours of material.
- Interface Design & Assessment Layering: Building clear graphic overlays to introduce interactive knowledge tests, timing text pop-ups with voiceover queues, and engineering visual feedback windows for learner confirmation.
- Editorial Quality Audits: Syncing animations with medical voiceovers, tuning background pacing, and reviewing rendering files with health professionals to confirm clinical accuracy before distribution.
Key Responsibilities
1. High-Impact Animation Production & Narrative Layout
- Author clean, minimalist motion graphics animations for institutional medical training modules running between 15 minutes and one hour.
- Develop multi-character vector animations, illustrating realistic classroom settings, clinic spaces, instructor presentation mechanics, and real-world clinical problem-solving loops.
- Deploy diverse camera compositions—including precise macro close-ups, balanced medium shots, and long environmental shots—to preserve high visual variety and tracking stability.
2. Video Editing, System Standardization & Asset Scaling
- Edit and refine continuous video files, maintaining strict compliance with the established color systems, text styles, and clean layout guidelines of the training series.
- Work from detailed training scripts to turn raw copy into a highly standardized, uniform series of educational assets.
- Build, categorize, and preserve an expansive internal asset library of reusable graphics, environmental backgrounds, and character expression templates to maximize production speed.
3. Compliance Integration & Collaborative Alignment
- Design and implement graphic overlays for embedded knowledge assessment questions within the timeline playbacks to verify student comprehension.
- Review production designs alongside internal medical professionals, integrating feedback loops to guarantee highly accurate visual representations of clinical environments.
- Deliver polished, render-optimized outputs matching strict educational media distribution profiles.
