Job Summary
The Sourcing Business Partner will drive third-party value extraction, integrate sourcing strategies directly into active sales processes, enforce procurement-driven profitability targets, manage Preferred Supplier Lists (PSLs), and advise business unit heads on direct and indirect spend optimization.
Qualification
- Formal Education: A first academic degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent university qualification) in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, or a related commercial discipline is strictly required.
- Sourcing Domain Expertise: Deep, operational knowledge of sourcing practices, contract management cycles, negotiation processes, and multi-tier supply chain strategies.
- Commercial & Financial Acumen: Exceptional business understanding, commercial skills, demand management capabilities, and advanced business modeling skills.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Sound foundational knowledge of local trade laws, commercial regulations, compliance obligations, and procurement legalities.
- Behavioral Traits: Strong track record of deciding and initiating action, managing change, and driving continuous improvement initiatives under tight timelines.

Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain Integration
- Professional Longevity: A minimum of five (5) years of progressive, relevant professional experience in managing complex sourcing solutions and corporate supply lines.
- Dual-Track Spend Execution: Documented history managing both direct (production/product-related) and indirect (operational/service-related) sourcing portfolios.
- Value Optimization: Proven success extracting value, reducing cost leakages, and optimizing supplier performance via collaboration with external vendor bases and strategic benchmarking.
- M&A Portfolio Support: Desirable experience supporting Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) from a sourcing and vendor-integration standpoint.
Commercial Sales Alignment & Advisory
- Sales Process Engagement: Direct experience participating in front-end sales cycles, contributing supply chain data to proposals, and defining sourcing parameters to win profitable contracts.
- Stakeholder Relationship Management: Proven background acting as a dedicated internal advisor, aligning procurement performance metrics with the expectations of product and project executives.
- Forum Representation: Experience presenting procurement intelligence and category strategies within cross-functional corporate decision boards and product development panels.
Key Responsibilities
Partner Engagement & Sales Process Integration
- Drive Early Engagement: Embed within partner organizations and internal units early in the lifecycle to secure higher value contributions from third-party suppliers.
- Support Commercial Sales: Actively engage in the front-end sales pipeline, contributing strategic sourcing intelligence to ensure new business wins remain highly profitable.
- Represent Sourcing in Forums: Serve as the core procurement voice in strategic sales, project, and product development forums, presenting actionable data at decision gates.
Category Strategy & Preferred Supplier List (PSL) Governance
- Govern Supplier Networks: Develop, optimize, and enforce regional category strategies and Preferred Supplier Lists (PSLs) to streamline vendor selection.
- Inspire Business Ideas: Propose innovative business models founded on optimized value extraction, market benchmarking, and supplier collaboration.
- Own Profitability Metrics: Hold accountability for the sourcing division’s direct contribution to business profitability, constantly adjusting strategies to meet or exceed stakeholder expectations.
- Manage Performance Targets: Monitor, analyze, and refine sourcing performance benchmarks, aligning third-party delivery speeds with customer-satisfaction targets.
