Job Summary
The Senior SuccessFactors Employee Central Specialist acts as the ultimate functional and configuration owner for Core HR cloud modules. Responsibilities include translating business processes into system logic, leading technical implementations for new features, troubleshooting complex Tier 2/3 system anomalies, driving continuous data hygiene via mass imports, and ensuring seamless structural alignment with security and reporting sub-systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Functional Module Architecture & System Customization (35%)
- Primary Configuration Ownership: Hold end-to-end configuration authority over the SuccessFactors Employee Central module, meticulously maintaining foundational structures, corporate data models, custom metadata frameworks (MDF), and complex business rules.
- Translate Requirements to Architecture: Analyze complex, cross-border HR business processes and functional requirements, converting them into stable technical system specifications and configurations.
- Streamline Process Automation: Continually audit global HR workflows to spot opportunities for system simplification, advanced UI customization, and background process automation.
- Maintain System Documentation: Create, update, and manage comprehensive configuration logs, functional design specifications, and data dictionaries to preserve architecture integrity.
2. Tier 2/3 Expert Support & Platform Integration (25%)
- Lead Technical Troubleshooting: Act as the final internal Tier 2/Tier 3 technical escalation point to diagnose, root-cause, and resolve complex EC operational errors, workflow bottlenecks, and calculation discrepancies.
- Manage Enterprise Integrations: Monitor data exchange health and troubleshoot structural interface exceptions occurring across middleware networks, identity infrastructure, or peripheral sub-systems (SAP IAS/IPS, SAP CPI).
- Manage SAP Escalations: Lead technical syncs and open defect investigations with SAP Support to resolve product bugs or advocate for critical customer enhancement requests.
3. Release Governance, Reporting & Lifecycle Management (20%)
- Govern Upgrade Cycles: Oversee bi-annual SAP SuccessFactors upgrade and release cycles, comprehensively analyzing release notes, executing regression testing, and identifying potential system impacts.
- Manage Environment Deployment: Validate change impacts in test environments (Preview) before orchestrating smooth production code updates and feature adoption paths for the business.
- Advance People Analytics: Support corporate reporting tracks by creating complex dashboards, cross-domain stories, and advanced reporting schedules using People Analytics.
4. Data Hygiene Governance & Workforce Strategy (20%)
- Enforce Data Hygiene Standards: Establish and enforce strict operational data rules, managing large-scale mass data imports, automated position re-parenting, and systematic data validations.
- Partner with Stakeholders: Collaborate closely with HR Business Partners, regional HR Operations leads, internal IT security divisions, and executive leadership to align technological capability with workforce transformation goals.
- Provide Consultative Guidance: Deliver expert, clear guidance on Employee Central system limits, platform guardrails, and upcoming product roadmaps to guide strategic corporate spending decisions.

Mandatory Certifications & Academic Credentials
- Core Certification (Strictly Required): Candidates must hold an active, verified SAP Certified Associate – Implementation Consultant – SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Core (C_THR81) credential.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, with a strong preference for degrees in Information Technology, Computer Science, Human Resources, or Business Management.
Professional Experience Base
- Professional Tenure: 3 to 5 years of clear, documented experience operating directly as a SuccessFactors Employee Central functional consultant or internal IT administrator.
- Ecosystem Specialization: Proven capability navigating and configuring advanced sub-systems, specifically SAP IAS/IPS (Identity Authentication/Provisioning Services), People Analytics, or SAP CPI (Cloud Platform Integration).
- Language Fluency: Professional-level fluency in written and verbal English communication, with a clear ability to articulate technical configurations to non-technical business leaders.
