Job Summary
The Senior MEP Manager will drive the full life-cycle delivery of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services for a landmark aviation asset. This includes leading the on-site MEP team, managing procurement and design coordination, steering engineering commissioning, and maintaining the highest safety, budget, and carbon reduction standards.
Qualification
- Mandatory Professional Background: A formal Professional Qualification (or verified industry equivalent) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, building services, or a related construction management field is required.
- Aviation & Structural Infrastructure Literacy: Deep knowledge of heavy mechanical, electrical, public health, and life safety systems built for high-volume public transport and aviation settings.
- Regulatory Design Competency: Deep operational fluency with international design management frameworks and technical guidance standards, including RIBA and BSRIA project lifecycles.
- Carbon Tracking Expertise: Practical knowledge of building physics, embodied carbon tracking matrices, and operational energy efficiency parameters.

Team Leadership & Corporate Governance
- Team Orchestration: Proven experience leading and running complex project MEP units, fostering a high-performance, inclusive, and respectful working environment.
- Standard Operating Compliance: A history of enforcing strict corporate excellence guidelines and quality assurance protocols across international markets.
- Talent Development: Experience providing active performance management, professional coaching, and technical mentorship to managers and engineering specialists.
Full-Cycle Project Delivery & Commercial Procurement
- Aviation Assets: Prior experience working on major aviation projects, airport terminals, or complex transport hubs is highly advantageous.
- Tendering & Bid Input: Background leading high-value tendering activities, contributing technical and commercial insights to bid development teams and sector leadership.
- Procurement Strategy Execution: Proven success setting up and managing specialized procurement strategies, ensuring high-value specialist subcontractor packages are bought within agreed budget parameters, scope boundaries, and contractual clauses.
- Commissioning & Risk Management: Experience managing project schedules, driving continuous improvement through formal lessons-learned templates, and proactively managing critical path issues, risk matrices, and commissioning activities.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic MEP Leadership & Project Delivery
- Lead the Project MEP Team: Manage the dedicated engineering team by setting clear goals, maintaining professional conduct, and following Mace operational standards.
- Accountable Service Delivery: Hold end-to-end accountability for the successful execution of MEP service lines, directly governing program schedules, quality assurance frameworks, and total project completion protocols.
- Govern Health, Safety & Wellbeing: Enforce excellent safety parameters on-site, ensuring all trade contractor workflows prioritize team wellbeing and zero-harm construction limits.
- Drive Strategic Commissioning: Create and roll out target-driven productivity, delivery, and system validation strategies, carefully managing risk interfaces and critical path issues.
Design Management, Procurement & Sustainability
- Oversee MEP Design Reviews: Supervise comprehensive MEP design management, coordination loops, and constructability reviews, ensuring project layouts match RIBA, BSRIA, and operational energy targets.
- Formulate Procurement Layouts: Guide the procurement of specialized contractor scopes, making sure boundary markers, budgets, and commercial resources are properly assigned.
- Nurture Stakeholder Connections: Build and protect strong, collaborative relationships with international clients, project consultants, trade contractors, and internal business partners.
- Champion Net Zero Initiatives: Integrate sustainability goals into day-to-day project milestones by leading proactive carbon management and reduction efforts to support the net-zero carbon transition.
