Senior Legal Counsel

Job Summary

The Senior Legal Counsel constructs legal frameworks and handles commercial contracts for a remote EMEA-based crypto casino startup. Reporting to the Head of Legal, this lawyer with 5+ years of iGaming/fintech experience drafts B2B/SaaS agreements, manages entity setups with local CSPs, and oversees IP registers from scratch.

Key Roles & Operational Responsibilities

1. Corporate Governance & CSP Liaison

• Entity Management: Oversee corporate entity setups, structure inter-company agreements, and handle comprehensive corporate housekeeping across multiple international jurisdictions.
• CSP Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for external Corporate Service Providers (CSPs) and local agents to maintain regulatory filings and corporate compliance.

2. Commercial Contracting & Framework Building

• Contract Drafting & Redlining: Draft, review, and negotiate diverse commercial agreements—including B2B partnerships, SaaS software licenses, affiliate/marketing contracts, and vendor deals—handling redlines directly with counterparties.
• Legal Standardization: Build standard terms, contract templates, internal legal policies, and reporting frameworks independently from scratch.

3. IP Management & Business Advisory

• Intellectual Property Portfolio: Oversee IP assets, maintain the centralized global trademark register, and coordinate with external IP agents on new registration filings.
• Internal Business Partnering: Act as the primary, practical legal advisor for cross-functional business teams, providing rapid guidance on operational and commercial questions.

Foundational Capabilities & Prerequisites

Required Qualifications & Senior Track Record

• Educational Baseline: Law Degree (LL.B, LL.M, Juris Doctor, or equivalent professional qualification).
• Years of Experience: 5+ years of legal experience, with the majority spent in a senior-level corporate or commercial legal role.
• Industry Focus: Proven hands-on experience within iGaming (online casinos, sports betting, gambling) or Fintech / Payments.
• Contracting & Corporate Competency: Solid track record in multi-jurisdictional corporate law and extensive experience drafting and negotiating complex B2B/SaaS contracts.
• Language Skills: Fluent written and spoken English skills for direct negotiations and legal drafting.
• Operational Autonomy: Proven ability to work independently, build systems from scratch, and escalate legal risks and open questions clearly to leadership.
