Job Summary
The SEM Lead will design, govern, and execute the global Google Ads Search infrastructure for Labhouse's app ecosystem. This technical leader will manage budget allocations, design intent-based keyword structures, refine Smart Bidding conversion signals, write custom scripts or data queries, and collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Data teams to align search traffic directly with LTV, CAC, and bottom-line profitability targets.
Qualification
Candidates must possess the following foundational academic, quantitative, and communication profiles:
- Academic Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. An advanced technical background in Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or equivalent heavily quantitative disciplines is highly valued.
- Analytical Capability: Advanced quantitative literacy with a proven ability to independently build lookback dashboards, write automation scripts, and interact directly with raw operational data.
- Linguistic Skill: Good level of spoken and written English, with the capacity to translate complex data anomalies into clear, scannable insights for interdepartmental teams.
Experience
Candidates must demonstrate deep, hands-on technical proficiency across Google Search ecosystems, attribution modeling, and automated environments:
Core Search Technical Mastery
- Expert Google Ads History: Deep, verifiable, hands-on experience architecting and scaling complex Google Ads Search accounts from the ground up.
- Structural Intent Segmentation: Complete mastery over account architecture, keyword intent grouping, phrase/exact match type interactions, automated search term mining, and negative keyword filtering matrices.
- Signal Engineering: Comprehensive understanding of Google's Smart Bidding algorithms, tracking pixels, server-to-server conversion signals, offline conversion importing, and multi-touch attribution mechanisms.
Business Analytics & Tooling
- Unit Economics Focus: A proven history of evaluating channel health based strictly on hard business metrics—including Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Lifetime Value (LTV), and net revenue margins—rather than cost-per-click (CPC) or click-through rates (CTR).
- Data Tech Stack: Practical experience querying, transforming, or visualizing raw data streams using tools like Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Looker Studio, BigQuery, or custom Google Ads JavaScript scripts.
- Multi-Product Portfolios (Preferred): Prior exposure managing performance marketing campaigns within native mobile application environments (iOS/Android) or multi-product subscription portfolios.
- Supplemental Networks (Preferred): Tactical familiarity navigating the Google Display Network (GDN) and managing YouTube Ads conversion campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Account Architecture & Scaling
- Own Search Strategy: Architect, deploy, and continuously optimize advanced Google Ads Search frameworks across our entire expanding app portfolio.
- Govern Budget Allocations: Oversee macro budget distribution across active applications, ensuring capital shifts dynamically toward high-yielding, high-LTV user cohorts.
- Maximize Capital Efficiency: Scale campaign volume while safeguarding unit economics, ensuring that bid increases are never treated as the primary lever for growth.
Signal Optimization & Data Engineering
- Refine Algorithm Inputs: Audit and optimize the quality of conversion signals fed into automated bidding algorithms to ensure Google maximizes actual downstream subscription revenue.
- Build Automated Systems: Develop custom dashboards, data automations, or platform scripts to track search terms, minimize budget waste, and surface real-time performance anomalies.
- Deconstruct Data Trajectories: Partner directly with central Data and Analytics teams to extract insights from raw BigQuery logs and GA4 behavior metrics.
Cross-Functional Growth Integration
- Collaborate with Product Teams: Work alongside Product Managers and Engineering leads to align outbound search intent with inbound onboarding flows and feature landing experiences.
- Provide Strategic Transparency: Serve as the central source of knowledge for search metrics within the company, delivering clear performance transparency and strategic recommendations to executive founders.
- Integrate AI Innovations: Participate actively in internal startup testing circles, including exploring the deployment of generative AI features within new product launches.
Skills Required:
- Economics / Statistics
- Sales / Marketing / Business / Management
