Job Summary
The Regional Sales Supervisor defines sales objectives, monitors retail metrics, manages operational costs, and coaches branch personnel. This professional conducts market intelligence on food pricing trends, collaborates with marketing teams on localized promotional activities, and coordinates with independent traders to expand affordable protein distribution channels.
Key Roles & Operational Responsibilities
1. Branch Network Performance & Compliance Management
- Partner with individual branch teams to structure, implement, and track weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales milestones.
- Monitor ongoing branch performance metrics against baseline corporate targets, deploying immediate corrective field interventions when performance gaps open.
- Enforce strict operational and regulatory compliance guidelines across the regional branch footprint, ensuring adequate geographic coverage and asset management.
- Review branch-level operational costs systematically and deliver data-driven recommendations to management to optimize retail overhead.
2. Marketing Execution & Local Market Intelligence
- Conduct systematic market intelligence gathering to track competitor actions, consumer demand, and protein pricing trends, reporting actionable findings directly to commercial leadership.
- Propose, tailor, and implement localized marketing campaigns and brand visibility activities in tandem with the central marketing department.
- Work closely with regional market traders and wholesale merchants to deepen distribution penetration and stimulate market demand.
3. Personnel Supervision & Field Coaching
- Supervise day-to-day operations of branch staff, reviewing individual personnel outputs via structured weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance appraisals.
- Translate top-level commercial strategies into comprehensive monthly field plans for the assigned regional territory.
- Deliver continuous on-the-job training, motivational coaching, and professional development paths to prepare branch teams for future operational scaling.
Foundational Capabilities & Prerequisites
Required Technical Profile & Experience
- Academic Foundation: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, or a closely related commercial discipline.
- Experience Baseline: Minimum of three (3) years of proven, progressive field experience within sales and marketing environments, preferably handling FMCG or perishable food products.
- Target Driven: A clear, demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding strict commercial sales targets and business quotas.
- Linguistic Capabilities: Professional verbal and written fluency in both English and Kinyarwanda is mandatory. Structural knowledge of French is considered a distinct operational asset.
- Interpersonal Toolkit: Advanced negotiation, field-team mobilization, cross-functional communication, and collaborative relationship-management skills.
