Principal Solution Architect

Job Summary

The Principal Solution Architect will own the structural integrity and long-term scalability of Tridion Docs architectures. Responsibilities span the complete project lifecycle: from driving initial pre-sales credibility and running technical client discovery to mapping information architectures (taxonomies, document profiling, reuse matrices), governing API-based backend pipelines, and coaching enterprise organizations through post-implementation adoption curves.

Qualification

• Linguistic Mastery: Elite written and verbal English communication skills. You must be highly articulate and capable of translating dense technical architectures into clear, compelling narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
• Geopolitical Readiness: Possession of the legal documentation, work authorizations, and flexibility required to travel up to regional client environments across the EMEA sector as needed.
• Structural Domain Mandate: A deep, definitive, and uncompromised understanding of DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture) and structured content management concepts is mandatory.

Structured Content & CCMS Governance

• Core Subject Matter Footprint: Extensive, deep professional experience and a recognized passion within the structured content management and XML-publishing arena.
• Information Architecture Craftsmanship: Documented success designing or governing advanced information architectures for DITA / XML-based content platforms, including detailed metadata mapping, multi-tier reuse strategies, semantic taxonomies, attributes profiling, and automated publication structures.
• Tridion Platform Literacy: Proven experience evaluating, configuring, and architecting solutions for Tridion Docs, Tridion One, or directly equivalent premium enterprise CCMS environments.

Enterprise Solution Architecture & Strategy

• End-to-End System Design: Verified experience defining and owning the lifecycle of enterprise solution architectures, including defining system boundaries, automating editorial workflows, and designing downstream integration patterns.
• API Integration Capabilities: Strong technical understanding of API-based extensions, microservices, and web hooks, along with their practical application in scaling high-volume document pipelines.
• Pre-Sales & Discovery Execution: Proven background assisting account teams with high-value pre-sales activities, shaping technical proposals, running client discovery loops, and eliciting clear functional requirements inside ambiguous corporate environments.
• AI Innovation Exposure: Practical experience utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to automate content efficiencies, enrich metadata tagging, or deliver an elevated, modern customer experience.
• Change Enablement Leadership: Demonstrated background guiding large, complex organizations through technical migrations, process overhauls, and post-deployment tool adoption.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Customer Discovery, Requirements & Pre-Sales

• Lead Discovery Operations: Head comprehensive client discovery initiatives to untangle underlying business challenges, catalog technical constraints, and define explicit strategic goals before proposing systems architecture.
• Shape Proposals & Pre-Sales: Partner with internal account managers to shape statements of work (SOWs), author authoritative proposals, and defend technical concepts during competitive pre-sales cycles.
• Govern Requirements Gathering: Translate raw stakeholder feedback into detailed, prioritized business and functional requirement definitions.
• Cultivate Trusted Liaison: Act as the authoritative "voice of the customer," ensuring deployment teams internalize user expectations while confidently challenging sub-optimal legacy practices when a more scalable, pragmatic solution exists.

Architectural Blueprint Design & Delivery Oversight

• Architect End-to-End Solutions: Design the complete, end-to-end solution architecture for complex Tridion Docs implementations, documenting all system borders, publishing pipelines, and API translation layers in meticulous technical spec sheets.
• Enforce Architectural Alignment: Provide ongoing technical governance across active engineering and deployment squads, ensuring all code, schema adjustments, and system integrations match your agreed solution design.
• Design & Execute Training: Develop specialized technical documentation, author application best practices, and deliver training workshops to maximize internal team proficiency and client independence.
• Manage Executive Escalations: Provide technical root-cause support and strategic guidance to Project Managers and executive leadership during critical account challenges or system integration bottlenecks.
• Drive Institutional Change: Champion post-deployment adoption frameworks, helping client teams restructure their editorial workflows to maximize the long-term ROI of their structured content platform.
