Job Summary
The Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB) is hiring a Mechanical Technician to support the maintenance and efficient operation of its facilities and mechanical systems. The role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment such as HVAC systems, air conditioners, ventilation systems, exhaust fans, water heaters, heat pumps, and automated gates and doors. The successful candidate will support preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure RSSB facilities remain safe, reliable, and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment and systems.
- Maintain HVAC systems, air conditioners, ventilation systems, exhaust fans, water heaters, heat pumps, and automated gates and doors.
- Diagnose faults and carry out corrective maintenance activities.
- Perform preventive maintenance to ensure the efficient operation of facilities and equipment.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
- Conduct inspections and identify potential mechanical issues.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspection results.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and quality standards.
- Support the efficient and reliable operation of RSSB facilities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education
- Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Domestic Mechanics, or a related field.
Experience
- 1โ5 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance and repair.
- Experience working with HVAC and other mechanical systems is required.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems maintenance.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults.
- Basic electrical knowledge is an added advantage.
