Job Summary
The Marketing Engineer architectures TestGorilla’s user acquisition web layer, MarTech data automation flows, and inbound account-based marketing pipelines. Core responsibilities include managing web conversion rate performance, designing complex data enrichment paths using n8n and Make, deploying automated lead campaigns, running rapid A/B testing cycles, and utilizing generative AI systems to make growth strategies highly repeatable at scale.
Qualification
Educational Level & Adaptability
- Minimum Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Engineering, Marketing Technology, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a matching analytical discipline. Equivalent practical experience as a self-taught growth engineer, low-code systems developer, or technical product manager is completely welcomed.
- Diversity Framework: TestGorilla actively encourages applications from underrepresented backgrounds; alignment with the mission and direct operational ability take priority over rigid credential checkmarks.
Experience
Candidates must demonstrate direct, hands-on capabilities across full-stack conversion engineering, data-informed growth loop design, and API-driven automation:
Execution-First Building & Web Optimization
- CMS Platform Literacy: Proven professional experience working directly with modern Content Management Systems (CMS) to manage and optimize web assets.
- Conversion Optimization Track Record: A documented history of success running rapid A/B testing frameworks, identifying conversion leaks, and scaling website conversion engines.
- Collaboration Patterns: Proven experience partnering smoothly with data scientists, UX designers, and product engineers to translate growth hypotheses into live web updates.
AI & Automation Fluency by Default
- Low-Code Workflow Engineering: Advanced experience building, testing, and debugging automated corporate workflows using data pipeline platforms like n8n or Make (formerly Integromat).
- Data Enrichment Mastery: Practical experience setting up, maintaining, and scaling targeting/enrichment pipelines through Clay or alternative programmatic data platforms.
- Generative AI Adaptability: Hands-on familiarity incorporating modern LLMs (such as Claude, OpenAI, or custom AI agents) into automated marketing campaigns to scale outreach without expanding manual work.
- Remote Operating Habits: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with a proven ability to thrive in a high-speed, fully asynchronous, remote-first scale-up environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Website Growth Execution & Technical CRO (35%)
- Own Growth Architecture: Partner closely with internal product engineers to guide the strategy, design, and execution of website performance upgrades.
- Optimize Conversion Engines: Audit user pathways to pinpoint drop-offs, then launch rapid A/B tests and web experiments to improve visitor-to-lead conversion rates.
- Integrate Front-End Experiences: Build and deploy clean, high-performing web pages, components, and interactive content using central CMS platforms.
2. Low-Code Marketing Automation & Pipeline Engineering (30%)
- Build Automated Workflows: Design, deploy, and maintain robust automated data flows using n8n and Make to route and nurture marketing-qualified leads (MQLs).
- Scale ABM Infrastructure: Manage and extend programmatic lead enrichment and targeting data systems inside Clay to fuel Account-Based Marketing (ABM) campaigns.
- Connect System APIs: Integrate disparate marketing tools, databases, and lead capture systems via clean REST API connections and webhook management.
3. Systematization & AI Leverage Scale (20%)
- Automate Growth Levers: Prove out marketing tactics through data analysis, then use AI tools and low-code triggers to turn them into repeatable processes.
- Incorporate AI Workflows: Build generative AI steps into standard lead generation pipelines to handle routine data parsing, categorization, and personal outreach at scale.
- Maintain Data Integrity: Monitor and clean inbound lead data records to ensure all marketing data maps correctly across interconnected platforms.
4. Asynchronous Culture & Cross-Team Collaboration (15%)
- Foster Inclusive Teamwork: Actively support an open, remote team culture across different time zones by providing clear, detailed project updates.
- Document Technical Workspaces: Maintain precise internal documentation detailing automated architectures, n8n schemas, and validation scripts.
- Share Performance Insights: Share technical performance updates and growth experiments during cross-departmental alignment sessions.
Expected Outputs & Deliverables
- Scaled website conversion performance across key landing pages, measured by a reduction in signup drop-offs.
- Automated, error-free n8n/Make data pipelines that process and nurture leads automatically.
- Clean, enriched target lead lists generated consistently through optimized Clay workflows.
- Centralized technical blueprints documenting all active automation chains, API webhooks, and third-party script integrations.
- Documented A/B test logs proving the conversion value of recent website design changes.
