Health, Safety And Environment (HSE) Foreman

Job Summary

The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Foreman is responsible for protecting workers, aquatic life, equipment, and the environment by implementing and supervising health, safety, and environmental practices. This role requires a continuous, hands-on presence across farm, hatchery, and processing sites to enforce strict safety standards, execute detailed risk assessments, and cultivate a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.

Qualification

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• OSHA or NEBOSH certification, or a proven track record of equivalent technical excellence in an HSE-related role.
• Deep knowledge of first aid protocols and emergency response frameworks.

Experience

• 2–5 years of professional experience in an HSE position.
• Prior experience working within an aquaculture, marine, or heavy industrial environment is highly preferred.
• A proven track record of successfully implementing, monitoring, and sustaining safety programs in an outdoor setting.
• Demonstrated experience conducting incident investigations and drafting technical compliance logs.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Workplace Safety Enforcement:

• Enforce corporate safety procedures across all operational sites, including fish ponds, open-water cages, hatcheries, and processing facilities.
• Ensure all field staff and specialized contractors wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as life jackets, gloves, boots, and masks at all times.
• Heavily monitor high-risk field activities, including diving operations, boat maneuvers, net cleaning, electrical installations, and mechanical tasks.
• Execute comprehensive daily safety inspections across all active work shifts and report daily findings directly to the HSE Manager.

Risk Assessment & Incident Management:

• Conduct routine risk assessments to identify operational hazards across all facilities.
• Investigate workplace accidents, near-misses, and safety deviations to identify root causes.
• Draft accurate, timely incident reports and ensure corrective actions from audits or events are implemented and followed up on.

Environmental Compliance:

• Monitor active waste disposal and pollution prevention practices across land and water sites.
• Safeguard compliance with environmental regulations, focusing on local water quality standards and ecosystem protection guidelines.
• Support engineering and operations teams in efforts to minimize the broader environmental footprint of aquaculture production.

Emergency Preparedness & Training:

• Plan, schedule, and conduct periodic emergency drills to prepare staff for on-water and on-site emergencies.
• Deliver regular safety training sessions, orientations, and daily morning toolbox talks to multi-departmental teams.
• Maintain, update, and display emergency response procedures across all properties.

Reporting & Record Keeping:

• Maintain immaculate HSE records, including inspection checklists, risk logs, training registries, and incident documentation.
• Prepare regular HSE summary reports and performance metrics for the HSE Manager, while actively supporting internal and external compliance audits.
