Job Summary
The Frontend Engineer designs, builds, and maintains high-performance, mobile-first client-side interfaces across Sporty's core applications and backend management systems. Core daily duties include writing clean Vue.js and TypeScript code, implementing component state management via Vuex, conducting rigorous end-to-end automated testing with Playwright, participating in code reviews to ensure compliance with architectural patterns, and engaging in agile team ceremonies like sprint grooming, product demonstrations, and retrospectives.
Foundational Engineering & Technical Prerequisites
- Proven Professional Tenure: Minimum of 4+ years of professional software engineering experience operating directly within a dedicated frontend development, user interface engineering, or web application architecture role.
- Component Framework Literacy: Deep, demonstrable familiarity with at least one modern frontend framework: Vue, React, or Angular. Candidates from non-Vue backgrounds must show a strong desire and capability to quickly adopt Vue.js patterns.
- Standard Web Stack Command: Practical mastery of Git version control, ES6+ syntax, Webpack asset compilation, Node.js runtime environments, and CSS preprocessors such as Less or Sass/SCSS.
- State Management Mastery: Strong understanding of client-side state architecture and data flow, with applied knowledge of libraries like Vuex, Redux, or Ngrx.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to explain complex technical designs clearly to both engineering peers and product stakeholders.
Preferred Technical Multipliers
- Full-Stack Ecosystem Awareness: Foundational knowledge or practical exposure to backend technologies, specifically Java and SpringBoot environments.
- Enterprise Templating Literacy: Familiarity with server-side web layout systems and template engines like FreeMarker.
- Cloud Infrastructure Familiarity: Prior exposure to cloud-native deployments, container orchestration, and continuous integration pipelines using AWS, Jenkins, and Kubernetes ($K8s$).
- Mentorship Capabilities: A natural inclination toward coaching, conducting constructive code assessments, and guiding less experienced engineers on best practices.
Technical Stack Architecture
As a Frontend Engineer, you will actively develop and optimize applications within the following technical landscape:
- Client-Side Core: Vue.js, TypeScript, ES6+
- State & Navigation: Vuex, Vue Router
- Layout & Styles: Less, SCSS, Element UI
- Compilation & Build: Webpack, Node.js
- Server Rendering Support: FreeMarker Template Engine
- Quality Assurance Automation: Playwright E2E Testing Framework
- Deployment & CI/CD: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Jenkins Automated Pipelines, Kubernetes (K8s) Orchestration
- Version Control: Git / GitHub Architecture
Key Responsibilities
1. Mobile-First Application Architecture & UI Delivery
- Architect, develop, and deploy mobile-first, fully responsive frontend systems in Vue.js capable of supporting millions of active daily user sessions.
- Construct clean, reusable, and modular component layouts that align with corporate design sheets and performance metrics.
- Build advanced frontend interfaces for internal backend management systems, operational monitoring panels, and customer-facing features.
- Optimize client-side rendering pathways, minimize bundle sizes, and improve Core Web Vitals to guarantee smooth user experiences across diverse devices and network speeds.
2. State Management, Automation Testing & Quality Assurance
- Implement and manage complex frontend data pipelines using Vuex state architectures, ensuring clear separation of concerns and predictable mutation tracking.
- Design and write robust end-to-end (E2E) automation test scripts using Playwright to intercept regressions and preserve application runtime integrity.
- Conduct strict code reviews with peers and managers, verifying that every incremental code release matches the original user story vision and adheres to standard resource libraries.
3. Agile Ceremonies & Operational Synchronization
- Participate actively in distributed team ceremonies, including sprint planning sessions, backlog grooming, product demonstrations, and team retrospectives.
- Collaborate closely with backend engineers, product managers, and UX design leads to translate functional wireframes into maintainable technical specifications.
- Utilize Git branching workflows to manage features, clear merge blocks, and maintain stable deployment tracks.
4. Technical Mentorship & Knowledge Share
- Provide ongoing technical mentorship, guidance, and constructive architectural advice to less experienced frontend engineers.
- Draft detailed documentation, software engineering guides, and structural pattern sheets to accelerate team onboarding and reduce development friction.
- Research emerging browser capabilities, upcoming framework versions, and frontend tooling upgrades to keep our technical stack competitive.
