DevOps Engineer

Job Summary

The Remote DevOps Engineer will automate multi-cloud infrastructure provisioning, build out containerized deployment frameworks, streamline enterprise CI/CD release cycles, implement rigorous identity and secrets management controls, and maintain comprehensive cluster monitoring and logging solutions.

Qualification

• Formal Education & Development: A first academic degree (Bachelor's) or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field is highly preferred. Significant, demonstrable professional experience in enterprise cloud environments can be accepted in lieu of a formal degree.
• Core Systems Knowledge: Expert-level mastery of Linux system administration and fundamental networking concepts (e.g., DNS, TCP/IP, VPC routing, load balancing).
• Security Framework Mastery: Deep understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles, least-privilege enforcement, secrets management tools, and cloud-native security best practices.
• Modern Tooling Proficiency: Highly skilled in deploying and navigating DevOps pipeline infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Prometheus, and Grafana.

Experience

Candidates must showcase direct, hands-on capability in scaling and managing distributed infrastructure:

Multi-Cloud Deployment & Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Cloud Platform Operations: Documented, hands-on experience designing, provisioning, and managing resources across a diverse mix of cloud providers, including AWS, Azure, GCP, and DigitalOcean.
• Automation Engineering: Proven history automating complex infrastructure provisioning and system configurations through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Container Orchestration: Direct experience building containerized application environments using Docker and managing scalable production clusters using Kubernetes.

Release Optimization & Observability Systems

• CI/CD Pipeline Architecture: Experience designing, optimizing, and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid, secure, and highly reliable code deployments across staging and production environments.
• Telemetry & Monitoring Deployment: Proven track record setting up proactive infrastructure health metrics and logging architectures utilizing tools such as Prometheus and Grafana alongside centralized logging solutions.
• Distributed Systems Delivery (Preferred): Previous experience supporting, troubleshooting, or contributing to large-scale, distributed systems for diverse clients, alongside exposure to microservices architectures and agile delivery methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Automation & Multi-Cloud Management

• Architect Resilient Environments: Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and fault-tolerant infrastructure footprints across AWS, Azure, GCP, and DigitalOcean.
• Enforce Infrastructure as Code: Replace manual provisioning steps entirely by writing, testing, and maintaining clean, reusable configuration playbooks and templates via Terraform and Ansible.
• Orchestrate Containers: Manage the lifecycle of containerized workloads, streamlining Docker image builds and optimizing Kubernetes cluster scaling, networking, and resource allocation.

Pipeline Streamlining, Security & Telemetry

• Optimize Delivery Pipelines: Standardize and enhance CI/CD workflows, shortening release cycles while eliminating build-time bottlenecks and integration errors.
• Govern Security & Secrets: Implement robust user access controls using native cloud IAM setups and secure application credentials using enterprise secrets management solutions.
• Maintain Observability Dashboards: Configure Prometheus and Grafana instances to capture real-time performance telemetry, building intelligent alerting thresholds and centralized logging systems.
• Collaborative Troubleshooting: Partner closely with cross-functional remote engineering teams to diagnose, isolate, and remediate complex deployment failures and infrastructure vulnerabilities.
