Job Summary
The Creative Design Lead acts as the senior creative authority for the TryHackMe brand. You will own the end-to-end design system, manage creative operations and production workflows for an in-house design team, oversee external agency performance, and partner with product/growth leads to align visual strategy with revenue and user experience goals. You will pivot between high-level brand strategy for global campaigns and tactical execution of growth assets.
Required Design Leadership & Technical Mastery
- Design Ecosystems: Expert-level proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Brand Systems Architecture: Proven track record in building, maintaining, and scaling design libraries and visual systems that function cohesively across web, mobile, and print surfaces.
- Creative Range: A strong portfolio demonstrating "great taste" and the ability to pivot between high-end, polished brand campaign imagery and rapid-fire, high-converting growth/performance assets.
- Operational Strategy: Demonstrated ability to manage creative operations, including backlog prioritization, capacity planning, and maintaining smooth project throughput without bottlenecks.
Required Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Team Leadership: Experience managing direct reports (including performance evaluation, critiques, and skill development) and managing external agency/freelance relationships.
- Cross-Functional Fluency: Strong experience working hand-in-hand with Product and Marketing stakeholders, understanding how visual design impacts user journeys, conversion rates, and overall commercial KPIs.
- Strategic Execution: A balanced mindset—you are a high-level strategic thinker capable of leading brand vision, but you are also willing to roll up your sleeves and execute hands-on work when deadlines tighten.
Bonus / Preferred Experience
- Rive animation expertise is considered a significant plus.
- Prior experience within a startup or scale-up environment.
- Domain knowledge in Tech, EdTech, or Cybersecurity.

1. Brand Identity & Design System Ownership (30%)
- System Architecture: Build, document, and evolve the TryHackMe design system, ensuring it translates perfectly across both Marketing surfaces (web, social, paid media) and Product surfaces.
- Design Language Evolution: Lead the visual refinement of our brand to ensure it remains modern, cohesive, and recognizable as we scale globally.
- Brand Consistency: Act as the final gatekeeper for visual quality, ensuring all internal and external assets adhere to our evolving aesthetic standards.
2. Creative Operations & Project Management (25%)
- Workflow Production: Build and maintain production workflows that ensure team efficiency and project speed.
- Backlog Prioritization: Own the creative team’s backlog, ensuring resources are allocated to the projects that align with the company’s current revenue goals and growth focus.
- Tooling Optimization: Continually evaluate and implement new design tools and technologies to streamline output and maintain high-speed production.
3. Strategy, Campaigns & Cross-Functional Partnership (25%)
- Visual Go-to-Market Strategy: Lead the visual identity for all major brand campaigns, product feature releases, and market expansion moments.
- Commercial Alignment: Partner directly with Product and Marketing leadership to ensure that design choices support user journeys and drive concrete commercial outcomes (e.g., CAC/LTV improvements).
- Template Development: Create and iterate on a library of high-performance templates for paid advertisements, email marketing, landing pages, and B2B pitch decks.
4. Team Leadership & Agency Management (20%)
- In-House Mentorship: Manage and grow two in-house creative designers, setting high-quality benchmarks, hosting regular design critiques, and actively fostering their professional development.
