Job Summary:
The Country Operations & Business Development Leader is responsible for driving pipeline growth, revenue generation, and market expansion in Rwanda. This role combines strategic business development, operational leadership, and partnership management, acting as the key link between sales, marketing, and regional stakeholders. The position focuses on building the company’s presence from the ground up, developing strong government and enterprise relationships, and executing localized growth strategies aligned with global objectives.
The role represents TeKnowledge in Rwanda and contributes to expanding AI-driven technology services in areas such as cybersecurity, customer experience, and digital transformation. The successful candidate will play a foundational role in shaping market entry, establishing operations, and driving long-term sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a localized growth and market entry strategy for Rwanda aligned with global business objectives.
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities across government, enterprise, and strategic sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, C-level executives, and enterprise clients.
- Represent the company in Rwanda at industry events, meetings, and strategic engagements.
- Lead the setup and scaling of local operations, including processes, team development, and execution structures.
- Ensure alignment between local operations and global standards, policies, and business goals.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support regional expansion into neighboring East African markets.
- Drive partnerships that support revenue growth, demand generation, and market penetration.
- Translate corporate strategies into effective local marketing and business development initiatives.
Experience
- Minimum of 5+ years in sales, business development, or partnerships, including at least 3+ years in a leadership role with proven success in driving growth and managing initiatives or teams.
Market Knowledge
- Strong understanding of Rwanda or similar emerging African markets, with established local networks and credibility with senior stakeholders considered a strong advantage.
Stakeholder Engagement
Proven ability to engage and influence C-level executives, government officials, and high-level partners while building long-term trust-based relationships.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen in identifying and developing business opportunities.
- Ability to lead both strategic planning and hands-on execution.
- Experience in operational setup or scaling business activities is an advantage.
- Exposure to education, skilling programs, cybersecurity, AI, or digital transformation is beneficial.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and partnership development skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
