Job Summary
The Charging Integration Engineer will handle the end-to-end integration, deployment, configuration, and validation of Ericsson Charging systems. This position combines hands-on protocol-level troubleshooting (Diameter, HTTP/2, CAMEL) with cloud-native pipeline engineering (Kubernetes, Helm, CI/CD), ensuring flawless real-time integration with Core Networks, CRM, Policy Control, and billing systems.
Qualification
- Mandatory Educational Background: A formal Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related quantitative technical field.
- Linguistic Fluency: Flawless written and spoken English communication skills. You must be comfortable leading customer workshops, technical presentations, and collaborative debugging sessions.
- Core Communication Persona: Excellent customer-facing and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to work productively across multicultural and geographically distributed teams.
Experience
Candidates must bring a solid foundation of field execution within real-time telecom billing and rating environments:
Telecom Charging & Core Network Expertise
- On-the-Job Tenure: A minimum of three (3) years of direct, hands-on integration and deployment experience specifically focused on Telecom Charging Solutions.
- Vendor Ecosystem Literacy: Practical experience working directly with Ericsson Charging solutions, including installation, configuration, end-to-end integration, validation testing, and system troubleshooting.
- Deep Protocol Stack Knowledge: Comprehensive mastery of multi-generation telecom signaling interfaces, including:
- Legacy Intelligent Networks: SS7 and CAMEL protocols for real-time mobile environments.
- Next-Generation Ecosystems: Diameter and HTTP/2 protocols optimized for 4G LTE and 5G Core charging architectures.
- OSS/BSS System Interconnects: REST and SOAP APIs for seamless data routing to CRM, Mediation, Policy Control (PCRF/PCF), Self-Care, and Billing platforms.
Cloud-Native & DevOps Environment Literacy
- Containerization Frameworks: Practical familiarity operating inside cloud-native and virtualization topologies, specifically utilizing Kubernetes, OpenShift, VMware, KVM, OpenStack, containers, and microservices architectures.
- Automation Toolset: Active familiarity working with modern DevOps CI/CD tools and practices, including Git version control, Jenkins pipelines, Ansible automation, and Helm package management.
- Infrastructure Utilities: Strong operational knowledge of Linux operating system environments, shell scripting (via Bash or Python), and structured SQL/NoSQL databases.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Deployment, Integration & Interface Configuration
- Deploy Charging Infrastructure: Lead the end-to-end installation, deployment, and configuration of Ericsson Charging architectures across native hardware and virtualized/cloud-native environments.
- Execute System Integration: Map and implement real-time integration hooks connecting the charging engine with Core Networks, 5G Core, CRM systems, Billing platforms, Mediation layers, Policy Control parameters, and external partner systems.
- Configure Telecom Signaling: Build, maintain, and troubleshoot core protocol connections across SS7/CAMEL stacks, Diameter engines, and cloud-native HTTP/2 routing layers.
- Drive Low-Level Design: Participate actively in upfront solution design cycles, translating abstract architecture into functional Low-Level Designs (LLD), precise configuration maps, and interface specifications.
- Document Technical Use Cases: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including call flows, integration use cases, interface maps, and operation runbooks.
Verification, Troubleshooting & Customer Acceptance
- Govern Validation Testing: Plan, write, and execute thorough test strategies covering system integration testing (SIT), functional flows, regression cycles, and non-functional performance/resilience benchmarks.
- Lead Multi-Layer Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex system anomalies and perform meticulous root cause analysis across application software, network integration boundaries, and underlying cloud infrastructure layers.
- Collaborate Across Delivery Teams: Partner with Solution Architects, Product Owners, and Project Managers throughout the lifecycle of the delivery contract to mitigate risks and protect project timelines.
- Own Customer Acceptance: Lead technical discussions, host interactive customer workshops, and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) sign-offs alongside operator engineering teams.
- Champion Knowledge Sharing: Populate internal engineering knowledge bases with post-project findings, technical solutions, and continuous process improvement strategies.
