Job Summary
The Business Development & Partnerships Officer focuses on lead generation, corporate networking, contract negotiation, and partner retention. Core duties include presenting Movemax’s outsourced staffing and last-mile logistics solutions to institutional prospects; conducting data-driven market research to discover industry trends; developing structured commercial proposals; maintaining active Customer Relationship Management (CRM) databases; and collaborating with internal operations teams to ensure seamless onboarding of new corporate accounts.
Foundational Capabilities & Prerequisites
Minimum Requirements
- Academic Credentials: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, or a closely related economic field from an accredited university.
- Proven Tenure: Clear, verified experience working within a dedicated business development, corporate sales, or commercial account management role—preferably gained inside the logistics, transport, consumer goods distribution, or B2B corporate service sectors.
- Core Sales Toolkit: Strong corporate sales capabilities, with a proven background handling cold prospecting, high-value lead generation, contract negotiation, and deal closure.
- Relationship Management: Demonstrated competency managing long-term strategic partnerships and building sustainable relationships with multi-tier institutional stakeholders.
- Logistics Acumen: A solid baseline understanding of standard logistics, supply chain, transport networks, and localized distribution models (or a proven capacity to master these frameworks quickly).
- Technical Software Stack: High comfort using professional CRM databases alongside advanced Microsoft Office tools (specifically designing financial models in Excel and pitch structures in PowerPoint).
- Workplace Adaptability: Absolute capacity to work on-site in Kigali, collaborate smoothly with cross-functional operational teams, and pivot rapidly inside a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Technical Attributes
- Possession of relevant professional certifications in sales management, corporate negotiation, or logistics.
- Existing corporate or development sector network contacts within the East African or Rwandan market.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Market Expansion & Lead Generation
- Research, identify, and qualify new business pipelines across private enterprises, public government entities, and international development organizations in Rwanda.
- Promote Movemax’s decentralized village-level sales agent network and last-mile distribution services as primary solutions for companies facing market penetration issues.
- Conduct focused market intelligence research, evaluate competitor positions, and transform data insights into practical corporate growth recommendations.
2. Partnership Development & Proposal Management
- Pitch, negotiate, and establish high-value commercial agreements and partnership models that deliver predictable revenue.
- Lead the drafting, modeling, and submission of corporate service proposals, commercial pricing models, and formal tender responses.
- Deliver persuasive product presentations and service demonstrations to C-suite executives, procurement heads, and program directors.
3. Account Management & Cross-Functional Alignment
- Serve as the principal commercial focal point for major corporate accounts, performing regular relationship check-ins to secure high client satisfaction and contract renewals.
- Document all client communications, pipeline movements, and conversion metrics systematically within the company CRM tool.
- Partner directly with internal operations and casual labor management teams to translate contracted client expectations into smooth field implementation plans.
Expected Outputs & Deliverables
- Consistent generation and tracking of verified enterprise leads within the CRM platform.
- Successfully negotiated and signed B2B service contracts expanding the active client portfolio.
- Highly professional, competitively priced commercial proposals and tender submissions.
- Monthly market intelligence briefs detailing emerging sector opportunities and client feedback trends.
