Job Summary
The Business Branch Coordinator acts as the central link between the Head Office and the field network to drive sales achievement, optimize microfinance operations, and safeguard physical assets. The role involves managing multi-branch growth strategies, overseeing security protocols at outlets, executing market sales calls, enforcing procedural internal controls, and resolving escalated customer complaints. The position reports directly to the Head of Operations.
Qualification
Candidates must meet the following educational and credential standards:
- Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields.
- Preferred Merits: Candidates possessing First Class or Upper Division qualifications are highly preferred.
- Professional Certifications (Added Advantage): Credit Manager Professional (CMP) Level I or Level II Certificate, or a Professional Microfinance Certification issued by the Rwanda Institute of Cooperatives, Entrepreneurship and Microfinance (RICEM).
Experience
- Minimum Criteria: At least five (5) years of relevant professional experience within banking or microfinance institutions, with a strong, specialized focus in Business operations.
- Verification Rule: Experience must be officially proven by valid certificates of service rendered from previous employers.
- Domain Assets: A thorough understanding of microfinance banking operations and customer relationship management (CRM). Experience in managing or leading a physical branch is considered a distinct advantage for this position.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Coordination & Branch Network Custody
- Act as the main custodian and security focal point for all assigned branches, outlets, and sub-branches across the district network.
- Ensure smooth, efficient, and compliant operations across all network touchpoints by conducting regular field tracking and verification visits.
- Establish close collaboration and seamless technical communication channels between the Head Office and the field branches/outlets.
- Enforce internal control routines strictly according to established operational procedures to mitigate corporate risk and maintain compliance.
- Follow code of conduct principles and professional regulations governing the business activities of the cooperative.
Sales, Marketing & Business Development
- Serve as the primary focal point for all sales and marketing-related activities within Ubudasa Sacco Bugesera.
- Support Branch Business Managers in developing localized market sales plans and executing strategies to meet branch sales targets.
- Conduct proactive sales calls and regular field visits to identify business opportunities and facilitate branch and outlet volume growth.
- Prepare clear, summarized reports detailing sales performance, marketing breakthroughs, and operational metrics in branches for the management team.
- Motivate branch and outlet teams effectively to align their activities with institutional performance targets.
Customer Service & Relationship Management
- Develop proactive strategies and maintain high-impact customer service programs to consistently meet and exceed members’ expectations.
- Handle escalated client concerns, technical service inquiries, and member complaints professionally to preserve institutional trust.
- Promote an excellent customer service culture among all frontline branch staff to boost member retention and portfolio health.
- Perform any other operational duties assigned by the Head of Operations or superior authorities in accordance with laws and regulations.

- System Operations: Advanced computer skills, including deep proficiency in MS Office applications and enterprise Core Banking Systems.
- Business Acumen: Strong analytical, reporting, and strategic planning skills tailored to microfinance banking environments.
- Decision-Making: Sharp problem-solving capabilities paired with the ability to balance strict compliance and business performance.
- Age Requirement: Must be 45 years old or younger.
Communication & Interpersonal Profiles
- Team Leadership: Proven ability to build consensus, guide Branch Managers, and inspire decentralized teams to achieve set targets.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills suitable for high-level corporate reporting and grassroots client engagement.
- Professional Alignment: High customer service orientation, personal integrity, and a proactive, self-motivated approach to cooperative governance.
