Job Summary
The Intermediate Back-End Engineer will design and deploy secure RESTful and gRPC micro-services using FastAPI, configure structured SQL database stores, and map technical solution diagrams prior to implementation blocks. Key technical execution areas include constructing complex third-party API integrations, utilizing AI coding environments (such as Cursor or GitHub Copilot) under strict peer validation layers, applying TDD patterns to eliminate logic drift, and participating in the global Back-End Engineering Chapter to refine core system architectures.
Qualification
- Technical Core: Direct, production-level mastery of the Python programming language.
- Framework Fluency: Practical implementation experience utilizing modern Python web frameworks, with a distinct preference for FastAPI.
- Data Storage Competency: Solid command of SQL language structures and experience interacting with enterprise relational database solutions.
- API Documentation Literacy: Advanced knowledge designing clean API contracts across REST, gRPC, or GraphQL protocols, complete with automated OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
- Communication Mastery: Impeccable written and verbal English communication skills, vital for logging technical specs and driving reliable asynchronous collaboration inside distributed teams.
Experience
Candidates must demonstrate a definitive history of micro-service deployment, structured system documentation, and high-ownership task execution:
Software Engineering Core & Micro-Services Architecture
- Professional Longevity: A minimum of 3 years of continuous, verified experience operating strictly within a professional software development or back-end engineering role.
- Distributed Networks: Proven, hands-on experience planning, testing, and shipping modular micro-services inside scaled cloud application architectures.
- Technical Draftsmanship: Demonstrated capability to clearly sketch, blueprint, and document technical software solutions and data schema changes before starting code construction.
Tooling, Architecture, & Domain Competency (Preferred)
- AI-Augmented Workflows: Familiarity with integrating modern AI coding assistants (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) into a disciplined daily development pipeline.
- Test-Driven Design (TDD): A highly developed instinct for structuring comprehensive test cases first, ensuring AI-generated or manually written blocks maintain high test coverage.
- SaaS & Product Background: Prior experience building and scaling a multi-tenant custom B2B SaaS architecture or digital product platform.
- FinTech or HRTech Insight: Foundational domain knowledge surrounding complex financial or corporate pipelines, including online payments, payroll logic, automated invoicing, or ledger compliance.
- Polyglot Exposure: Supplementary technical exposure or baseline familiarity working with Java and the Spring Boot framework is a distinct competitive advantage.
- Security & Optimization Focus: Practical understanding of application performance fine-tuning, query caching, and core web application security benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities
API Engineering & Third-Party Integration
- Architect Resilient APIs: Formulate, build, and maintain fast, secure, and highly documented APIs to be consumed fluidly by frontend applications and downstream internal micro-services.
- Engineer External Connections: Build robust, fail-safe integrations with global third-party banking platforms, local payroll vendors, and tax authority software modules.
- Own the Development Lifecycle: Participate in full-cycle software implementation, carrying features through conceptual system design, initial drafting, automated testing, and production container rollout.
AI Co-Pilot Governance & Quality Engineering
- Optimize AI Collaboration: Use AI programming toolsets standardly to accelerate typing and boilerplate generation, while acting as a rigorous human gatekeeper during manual code compilation and validation.
- Enforce Clean Code Standards: Implement extensive unit and integration tests under TDD principles to completely neutralize logic regressions or security gaps injected by automated tooling.
- Drive Engineering Chapters: Actively contribute to our global Back-End Engineering Chapter, participating in collaborative architecture reviews and establishing core security and styling guidelines.
Asynchronous Operations & Technical Ownership
- Champion Task Ownership: Manage assigned engineering tasks end-to-end, proactively gathering product feedback from cross-functional squads (Product Managers, Designers, QA) without needing external supervision.
- Document System Evolution: Author scannable, clean technical documentation within internal wikis and OpenAPI structures to keep codebases readable for distributed squads.
- Deliver Across Boundaries: Align development tasks with product roadmaps, communicating through c
